The Poetry Brothel LA is back with an excitingly erotic return to El Cid.
2019 starts with our Dungeon of Love where our poets will reach out to the most sensual and hidden corners of their psyches to retell the adventures of the soul and the flesh. Descend deeply into the darkness and consent to poetical intimacy, revelations that will make you pine, long, and sweat in honor of Valentine’s Day.
Do you yearn to feel the crack of the spine of a book?
Do you hunger for delicious words dripping from sensuous lips?
Do you enthusiastically consent to explore BDSM (Books, Diction, Descriptive Stanzas, Similes and Metaphors)?
Will you allow our poets, our musicians, our aerial and burlesque dancers to have their willful ways with your heart?
Well, come on over, you kinky thing!
As our Poets cater to our audience’s passions, our On-Stage Cabaret will Spellbind you Hand and Foot, with the Masterful Entertainments we have Whipped Up: Aerialist Lena Fumi, Burlesque Mistresses Olivia Bellafontaine, Jessebelle Thunder, and Frankie Tan, Palm and angel numbers reader Crystal Miel Cossey, The musical siren calls of Joseph Windows To Sky and The Blue Wagon Trio, and cages full of well-trained Poetry Whores Terence Leclere Vesta Vaingloria Phillip T. About The Brothel:
“13 Best Things to Do in LA: Prepare to have your expectations exceeded by The Poetry Brothel.” – LA Weekly
Madam Tallula presents a rotating cast of poets who impart their work as purveyors of private poetry readings in secret, hidden, well-appointed chambers. You may avail yourself of your choice of poet for tokens at any time during the event.
On the heated patio, the troupe presents Tarot readings, poetic souvenirs, live typewriter poetry, and occasional burlesque and musical performances.
On the stage, a three-hour roster of Vaudeville variety entertainment and words, words, words.
The El Cid tapas kitchen and bar will be open for dinner and drinks throughout.
Behave with beauty, connect with intention. We are, by and large, a no-contact event — here to blow your mind and nothing else! Always ask before touching anyone in our House, and report any discomfort to security or staff or the Madam Herself without delay.
